Tile Floor Installation
There are many benefits to installing tile flooring in your home. It is easy to clean, hypoallergenic, widely available, and environmentally friendly. Tile factories today are "closed loop," reusing water and materials. They send only negligible amounts of scrap to landfills and wastewater to treatment facilities.
Ceramic and porcelain tile is long-lasting, durable, and more affordable than their marble tile counterparts, making them ideal for bathroom and kitchen remodeling. No matter what type of tile flooring you decide on Woodstone Flooring can provide you with the tiling services that you need. We also install hardwood, vinyl plank, and laminate flooring. Tile Flooring Materials
Select from porcelain, ceramic, and natural stone tile fabricated in many colors, hues, styles, and textures. Get light, dark, smooth or rough finishes. Clay, metal, quartz and terrazzo, each have unique characteristics.
Ceramic Tile Flooring
Ceramic tile is either porcelain or non-porcelain. We recommend using porcelain over non-porcelain ceramic tiles because the finish completely saturates the tile. Porcelain tile also contains 50% feldspar, a pulverized substance found in rock, which causes a binding reaction during the heating process. It melts into a glass-like substance and binds all of the materials together.
Both porcelain and non-porcelain tiles can have a glaze applied during manufacturing which ranges from a high gloss to a matte finish. Both are highly resistant to staining, scratching, and water absorption.
Natural Stone Tile Flooring
Natural stone is quarried, slabbed, and cut to size to make tile surfaces. Styles, textures, and colors vary, depending on the source of the stone.
Natural stone is an eco-friendly product, and harsh abrasive chemicals do not need to be used to clean it. Stone does need to be sealed because of its porosity. Sealing helps keep it from staining. The other great benefit of natural stone is that it hardly shows soap scum or water spots. Stone tile flooring types commonly used include travertine, marble, and granite. Limestone and slate may also make an appearance.
Travertine Tile Flooring
Travertine is layered limestone that has been changed by hot springs. It typically has a two-to three-color variation and comes in a wide variety of colors, most of which are neutral. This affords excellent design advantages, as it can be paired with any paint, accent tile, or texture.
Marble Tile Flooring
Marble is one of the most elegant flooring materials that you can choose for a foyer or bathroom. This all-natural stone is harvested in great slabs which are then sliced down and refined into the individual tiles, slabs, and mosaics that are used in the standard construction process.
